Our Service

Our service works on everything from a phone held upright to 4K screens and larger; a large, high-resolution screen gives the full experience. Check on your jobs from anywhere and compare images and videos before and after, down to the pixel, in any browser. Step frame by frame, and compare on top of each other or side by side. For a full evaluation, calibrate your display's gamma and colors. Our goal: you never have to leave your browser while you restore your film.

Adaptive Filtering

Your film is analyzed for where scenes begin and end, and broken frames between scenes are marked. Adaptive filtering then evens out the differences in sharpness, saturation and brightness between scenes, so the whole film looks consistent. Remove the noise that changes from frame to frame while keeping the film's own grain - the classic look of film without the unwanted noise. Every filter can be turned on or off, so each film gets exactly the filters it needs.

Scalability

Film restoration at this level needs a lot of processing power - one computer can only work on one job at a time. That is why our service runs in the cloud, where it can grow with your needs. While you try our service, your account runs with limited resources. Once you sign up for one of our account plans, we can set up dedicated resources near where you are located - and for a company with regional offices, near each of them.

Technology and AI

Every filter uses the newest AI and image-processing methods for its task: scene detection marks where scenes begin and end, adaptive filtering evens sharpness, color and light between them, super-resolution scaling takes your film to HD or 4K, frame interpolation adds the frames for smooth or natural-speed motion, and AI audio filters clean the soundtrack. Black and white film can be colorized with your review of the colors.

Film Types

Our focus is professional film from 16 mm to 35 mm and up, professionally scanned in HD, 2K or higher. Raw and graded scans both work - make sure the scan is not under- or overexposed, because the service needs all the white and black parts of the picture to restore it fully. 8 mm film and digitally sourced SD video can be used too, although the results depend on their quality.
